Scouts are the largest pedagogical voluntary movement for young people, with a presence in 350 neighborhoods in Greece. Their programs are aimed at children from 7 years old, teenagers, young people and adults and are based on the fact that learning takes place through enjoyable and experiential activities in nature, in small groups of their peers.

Target Audience

The funding programs are addressed to any interested party who would like to financially support the voluntary social work of The Greek Scout Association. The main source of income of the Greek Scout Association is the annual subscriptions of its members. But there is also a percentage of revenue, which comes from sponsors, friends and Old Scouts.

Scouts for Sustainable Development Goals

Scouts, through their programs, actions and timeless values, have been implementing the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals for 111 years, helping to create a better world by 2030. Scouts recently completed 2 billion hours of global social contribution , through the Sustainable Development Goals.

The aim of this initiative is to raise the necessary funds in order to enhance the education and awareness of primary school children on issues of Sustainable Development.

As proud Ambassadors of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, we urge young and old, with small or large deeds, to share their love for every good cause, not only today but as often as they can! Humanity, expressed through acts of love, always brings great results!

Today, having acquired all the supplies and knowledge, we expand the effort and aim to mobilize, in addition to our members, a large number of students, Schools and Youth Organizations, offering 100,000 hours of offering to the Society.

Adopt a Traditional Naval Scout Boat

The Greek Scout Association has more than one hundred (100) sailing boats throughout Greece. The majority are wooden ten-headed whales, descendants of the boat "Latis Triarmenos" and there is a small number of metal and wooden six-headed whales, descendants of "Maltese" or "Sakkolaif", all of the 18th century!

Recently, the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy recognized some Navy Scout boats as "Traditional Boats".

The current economic conditions make the annual maintenance of these boats a difficult process and some of the boats go ashore and are decommissioned for a long time, depriving children of their involvement in seafaring.

In this context, the maintenance and repair needs of this year include 15 Naval Scout Boats, where the average cost of maintenance and repairs per boat amounts to € 2,000.

It is worth noting that the Greek Scout Association since 2016 has been certified by the Lloyd's Register as an organization that provides certified training (Approved Training Provider), as well as the way in which the Skipper Certificate For 25 'Whaler is implemented. And (Skipper Certificate for 25 'Whaler Offshore Sailing Boats Training Course), with the first stage and condition of this being the Naval Scout Boat Training.

Reconstruction of the Scout Center "Pyrgaki" of Aigio

The Greek Scout Association owns the Scout Center "Pavlos Vassiliadis" in Pyrgaki Aigio, on the road Aigio - Pteris - Kalavrita and at an altitude of over 800 meters. The Scout Center was completely destroyed by the deadly fires of 2007 that burned the hitherto lush forest of pines and firs. A few years ago, the reconstruction works of the Scout Center and reforestation of the area began, in order for the children to soon have a starting point again for their activities and to enjoy the magic of nature.

The current financial conditions do not favor the smooth completion of the works so that the Scout Center in Pyrgaki is again available for use, as the budget of the remaining works reaches 80,000 €.
